SWOT will continue to collect data on ocean currents, map the ocean floor and assess global freshwater availability throughout the year.

In total, ocean currents transfer about 25 per cent of the global heat budget ... in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The map below shows the pattern of currents across the world.
