Google is following the Trump administration’s lead on purging diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, cutting mentions of DEI from its annual report and scrapping its goal of hiring applicants from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

The change comes after President Donald Trump’s sweeping executive orders and a broader anti-DEI pullback at other big companies.

The move came in the wake of an executive order aimed in part at pressuring government contractors to scrap their DEI initiatives.
