Samsung just dropped its baseline flagship for 2025: the Galaxy S25. With a slimmer profile, capable chipset, and a triple-camera setup, the smartphone gives direct competition to the base iPhone 16.

Samsung has further improved the photography capabilities of the Galaxy S25 Ultra: While the main sensor still boasts an impressive 200 MP, the ultra-wide camera has been upgraded to 50 MP (up from 12 MP on the former S24 Ultra), complemented by a 10 MP telephoto lens.

I don’t know if I’ll go that far this week when Samsung holds its next Galaxy Unpacked event. Not because Samsung phones are intrinsically inferior to iPhones—although coincidentally they are—but because I feel like I’ve seen it all before.
