One by one, college football spring games keep falling to the wayside, with Texas the latest to cancel any public viewing of its team in the offseason, joining a growing list of schools that include Nebraska and USC.

Texas will start spring football practice the week of March 17 but won’t have a spring game. Coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed the change during an interview with Kay Adams on the “Up and Adams” show. Sarkisian said it makes more sense to go to a more NFL-type approach and have the OTA style early and then more scrimmages later in the 15 days of spring practice that is allowed.
