Brightline West is a privately run high-speed rail route, currently under construction, to link the Las Vegas Valley and Rancho Cucamonga in Greater Los Angeles through the California high desert. The line will connect with existing rail at Rancho Cucamonga station of Metrolink's San Bernardino Line, a commuter rail line in Southern California.

Jan 24, 2025 · Brightline West officials are working with Siemens, who will manufacture a fleet of 10 fully-electric, high-speed American Pioneer 220 trains for the rail line.

Brightline West will be America’s first true high-speed rail project set to connect Southern California to Las Vegas, with trains traveling over 200 miles per hour. Several federal, state, and local elected officials hailed the grant signing as a major milestone.

Brightline West is utilizing the integrated network approach. At Rancho Cucamonga, the LA area station, Brightline West high-speed trains will connect with Metrolink regional rail, allowing riders access to and from LA Union Station and over 60 other Metrolink stations.
